Have you ever tried a “cult” Cabernet Sauvignon from California? Do you know your Gewurztraminer from your Gamay? Let the CANY bring out your “inner sommelier” at the Special Anniversary 5th Annual International Wine Tasting at the Penn Club on April 17, 2008. Click here to see 2007 CANY Wine Tasting Photos, 2006 CANY Wine Tasting Photos and 2005 CANY Wine Tasting Photos. You will sample 16 wines — a flight of 8 whites and 8 reds — from countries around the world including Italy, France, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Canada and U.S.A. As always, we will provide you with a very detailed description of the color, aroma and palate of each wine, and a wine card for you to write your own tasting notes. Noted sommelier and wine educator Ellisa Cooper will lead you through the tasting, lend her insight, and ultimately reveal each wine's identity. Experts from Chelsea Wine Vault will also be on hand to help you swirl, sniff and savour. As always, we will kick off the tasting with a glass of top-notch bubbly, Champagne Paul Goerg Premier Cru, and will wind down with an Icewine martini bar featuring Mission Hill Family Estate 2004 S.L.C Riesling Icewine and U'Luvka Vodka.
